I started by defining the overall concept and visual direction around the human connection to nature, then created a masthead and identity inspired by the sun. I named the magazine Soul to represent not only the sun, but also how our relationship with nature can impact our emotional and mental well-being. I chose clean typography, a warm muted color palette, and full-bleed nature imagery throughout each seasonal cover to create a cohesive visual system. The layouts were refined to feel clean, minimal, and intentional across both the covers and interior spreads.
The final design is a clean, modern editorial system that reflects the concept of SOUL through seasonal color palettes, refined layouts, and immersive imagery. Each issue has its own mood and atmosphere while still feeling cohesive.

The inner spreads feature the spring issue, including a table of contents and four article chapter openers: “The Light We Live By,” “The Ecology of Calm,” “The Healing Power of Water,” and “Medicine from the Earth.” An interior spread from “The Light We Live By” is also included.
The spine system, grid, and layouts were designed to expand into future seasonal or monthly issues while staying consistent with the established visual identity of the magazine.
